Dear colleagues,
We all share the fundamental values of international law, human rights and democracy.
Today, Russia continued its war of aggression against Ukraine, which started eight years ago with an attempted illegal annexation of Crimea, with an unprecedented large-scale military attack.
No measures taken over these eight years to appease the aggressor have been successful. Only today, Russia’s armed forces, in violation of the United Nations Charter and of international humanitarian law, have attacked a number of civilian objects in Ukraine, causing civilian casualties. International law and its values are thus under attack.
I urge you to do everything possible to uphold and protect the universal and European values, our joint commitment to international rule of law.
Ukraine needs support.
The faith in International Law should be restored.
President of the Ukrainian Association of International Law
